When It's Too Late.

A friend of mine passed away a few days ago.
One damn truck riding against the trafic.....one life ending a few days after Christmas a few days before his birthday. A family, a girlfriend, friends, a life of adventure and travels left behind, ended abruptly.
We talked a few days before he passed away and i had to end up the conversation because i had a lot to do before traveling to Germany.
If only i knew it would be the last time we talked....
But how could have known? You were young, i'm young, we had plenty of time to plan some trip and projects, to talk about what the futur will look like. This futur we took for granted. This futur we all tend to take for granted.
Who never called his parents or grandmother and say «Is it ok if i come next sunday rather than today» who never texted a friend saying «damn i'm super tired and lazy tonight, you're good if we go to see a movie next week»
We tend to forget that, it is not certain that there will be a next sunday or a next week, for us or for our loved ones.

We all make big plans, traveling, running a marathon, buying a home, setting up a party, trying this new restaurant, learning a new skill.....but, you know «maybe in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, when i will have more time/money/energy....»

But what if there is no «in 2 years»?

Of course, all the scientific studies, all the articles about how nowadays people live longer than ever because medecine can cure more disease, because we live healthier lives....of course!
But what about a truck riding against the trafic? What about cancer you couldn't cure? What about anything actually!
Take the time today, in every step that you take and every move that you make to imagine what could go wrong, you will realize that there is at least 10 things that might happen in one single day and might go really wrong.
Of course, we shouldn't live in a permanent fear of being run over by a car, or getting sick otherwise we wouldn't do anything of our lives.
But we really should appreciate every single days.
Yes, you hate rain, but what if this is the only thing you will feel on your skin? Yes, you hate waking up early, but what if this is the last day you're waking up?

So take the time to appreciate, take the time to live fully, make times to be with your family, don't delay talking to people, don't delay this trip you absolutely want to do, who care if you eat a bit too much of a very good box of chocolates? Learn how to ride horses if you always wanted to do it!
But please, never, ever take life or your loved ones for granted, you don't know how much time you or they still have.

My friend and i were supposed to film a music video together .... i guess we delayed it too long ...
